Grounds maintenance

The service charge payable varies across tenancies, dependent upon the service delivered in the locality of your home. Services typically include: 

  • Grass cutting 
  • Shrub and hedge maintenance 
  • Weed control

Caretaking service

The Caretaking Service charge covers the services provided by caretakers across the Borough. Their responsibility is to look after and maintain communal areas of the buildings, working to ensure they are clean, safe and monitored to a high standard.

Building and window cleaning

This charge covers the communal cleaning and window cleaning at all sheltered schemes, as well as 50 other developments throughout Stockport.

Sheltered Scheme Support

The Sheltered Scheme allows you to live independently within your own home, offering support 24 hours a day through a designated Scheme Manager. Back up is also provided by the Carecall Service. 

As part of the service, you will have an individual support plan and someone to turn to if you need a helping hand.

Carecall service

Carecall is a telemonitoring and response service, tailoring individual support packages to people that wish to maintain independent living. This charge covers a monitoring and mobile warden response service 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.

Prior to introducing any new service charges, Stockport Homes will consult you, with a minimum of four weeks' notice before the charges start. 

You can pay your service charges online through the Stockport Council website, where you will find options for the Carecall / Sheltered Scheme Manager charges amongst others.
