Our vision for Stockport’s first 24/7 Extra Care scheme is to create a safe, vibrant and supportive community where people can live independently with the reassurance of round-the-clock care and support. We are committed to giving residents choice, dignity, and peace of mind, while fostering connection, wellbeing and independence.

This pioneering scheme represents a new chapter for care in Stockport - one that is person-centred, forward-thinking, and built on partnership. Our goal is to set a new standard for extra care: a place where people not only feel supported, but truly thrive. There will be 2 Adult Social Care placement flats at Brookhead Lodge. These properties are used for short, temporary placements of up to 6 weeks and are arranged through referral forms sent to the Council. Service users can use these flats for hospital discharge, trial extra care or accommodation if adaptation works are being completed on their own properties
i.e. adding a stairlift or building a wet room.

Objectives
  • Provide adaptable, independent living with 24/7 on-site care.
  • Prevent admission into traditional care homes through flexible support.
  • Promote community integration through public facing amenities. 
Design & Layout
  • Wide corridors, generous natural light, and communal seating.
  • Adaptable bathrooms and kitchens for aging in place.
  • On-site bistro & hair salon, open to both residents and locals to foster social interaction. Communal lounge and landscaped gardens for events and outdoor use.
Flat Furnishings
  • Flooring included in kitchen and bathroom
  • Fixtures included are oven, hob, extractor fan, built in fridge freezer and a space for a washing machine. All fixtures are gifted, customers are responsible for breakdowns of the equipment. All equipment come with warranties for you to complete.
