Charity of choice

We are proud to offer support to a Charity of Choice, our colleagues join many fundraising activities to show their support. The Charity of Choice for 2026 – 2027 is Milly-Rose Stirrup Foundation: A Charity that supports families who have experienced the loss of a child, offering compassion and practical support at a time when it is needed most.

Milly-Rose Stirrup Foundation(opens in a new window)  was established by parents Pip and Shaun Stirrup in memory of their daughter, Milly-Rose. The charity supports families who have experienced the loss of a child, providing comfort packs, cuddle blankets, clothing and calm spaces within hospitals and care settings, offering compassion and practical support at a time when it is needed most.

The new partnership will build on the success of SHG’s previous charity relationship with local homelessness charity, The Wellspring. Over the last two years, colleagues have raised more than £40,000 to support The Wellspring’s vital work across Stockport, helping people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to access food, accommodation, health services and long-term support.

This was not an easy decision, and we are incredibly grateful to every colleague who nominated a charity and took the time to vote. We are immensely proud of what we have achieved together with The Wellspring, raising more than £40,000 over the last two years and making a real difference to people in our local community. The Milly-Rose Stirrup Foundation carries out extraordinary, compassionate work for families facing the unimaginable. This partnership is more than fundraising, it’s about shared values, empathy and making a meaningful difference together.

We are so grateful to Stockport Homes Group for choosing to support The Milly-Rose Stirrup Foundation. It is our mission to help to ensure families are given the opportunity for memory making that is as individual as their child that they have lost, and having a safe, calm space to do this in. Sadly, we know how hard this path is to walk and how it feels to not have access to these choices. We are looking forward to working together with Stockport Homes Group, to raise awareness, open conversations about child loss, and raise the vital funds we need to keep helping families like ours.
