The new Stockport Live Well space has launched at Cornerstone, bringing together vital support and community opportunities in one accessible location for residents across the Borough.

Stockport Live Well was created to make it easier for people to find the help they need, whether for themselves, their families, or those they care for. By connecting a wide range of local services and community activities, the initiative aims to empower residents to stay well, build independence, and thrive.

Cornerstone, already a well-established support hub as the head office for Stockport Homes Group, has long provided residents with access to housing and related services. The introduction of the Live Well space builds on this strong foundation, bringing together an even wider range of support in one place for the first time.

As a Live Well space, Cornerstone now offers integrated support across a range of essential areas, including:

·         Housing advice and support

·         Skills, training and employment guidance

·         Money and benefits advice

·         A dedicated DWP Youth Hub

·         Access to data banks

·         Digital support and inclusion services

·         Immigration advice

·         Citizens Advice

By bringing these services together under one roof, Stockport Live Well is helping to remove barriers and make it simpler for residents to access joined up support in their community.

Live Well is all about making it easier for people to find the right help, in the right place, at the right time. This space at Cornerstone is another important step in building a connected network of support across Stockport. Alongside our libraries, Family Hubs, leisure centres and other community spaces, it will provide a welcoming place where residents can get advice, access support and stay connected to what’s happening in their local area. By bringing support into the places people already know and trust, we’re helping everyone to stay well, independent and connected in their communities.

The launch of Stockport Live Well at Cornerstone is an important step forward in how we support residents across the Borough. By building on the support already in place and bringing partners together, we are creating a more connected, accessible offer for our communities. This is exactly the kind of collaborative approach we need to ensure people can easily find the right support, improve their wellbeing, and access new opportunities.

Marie Gilluley, Chair of SKylight Board

The launch marked a significant step in Stockport Council’s commitment to creating stronger, more connected communities where residents can easily access the support, they need at the right time.

Residents were encouraged to visit Cornerstone to find out more about the services available and how Stockport Live Well can support them.
