Stockport Homes and Greater Manchester Police close down property due to Persistent Anti-Social Behaviour
On Wednesday 23rd September 2026, Stockport Homes Group's Safer Neighbourhoods Service successfully secured a Full Closure Order for a property in Adswood following ongoing anti-social behaviour.
The property was linked to threatening behaviour, violence, drug-related activity and persistent noise nuisance, causing significant disruption to local residents and the wider community. Prior to legal action, a range of support and enforcement measures were implemented, but despite numerous opportunities to engage, the behaviour continued.
The outcome was achieved through strong partnership working between Stockport Homes, Stockport Council and Greater Manchester Police. By working closely together, sufficient evidence was gathered to secure a full closure order on the property.
This action demonstrates the continued commitment of local partners to tackling anti-social behaviour, preventing criminal activity and keeping communities safe. The Safer Neighbourhoods Service will continue to work with partners to support residents and monitor the premises.
Jason Holmwood, Greater Manchester Police said,
“Greater Manchester Police have supported Stockport Homes in securing this closure to tackle the anti-social behaviour that has had a significant impact on local residents. Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home and community, and we will continue to take robust action against those whose behaviour causes harm, alarm or distress to others.”
