Stockport Homes and Greater Manchester Police work together to close a property down due to persistent Anti-Social Behaviour.
The Safer Neighbourhoods Service at Stockport Homes Group has successfully secured a Closure Order on a property in Ince Close, Heaton Norris, following an escalation in reports of serious anti-social behaviour.
Working in partnership with Greater Manchester Police and Stockport Council, the team gathered sufficient evidence to take legal action against the property and its tenant using powers under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
The Closure Order was granted at Tameside Magistrates' Court on 4 August 2026 following persistent anti-social behaviour at the property, which had a significant detrimental impact on local residents and the wider community. Reports received by the Safer Neighbourhoods Team and Greater Manchester Police included concerns regarding a high volume of visitors to the address, criminal activity, drug-related activity, and ongoing noise nuisance.
The Closure Order prohibits anyone from residing in or visiting the property for a period of three months. The order will provide immediate respite and reassurance to those affected by the behaviour while Stockport Homes Group takes steps to regain permanent possession of the property.
