Sign up your business to 'Take a seat' campaign

We are encouraging local businesses to sign up to ‘Take a seat’; a scheme aiming to make our town more inclusive, accessible and age-friendly.

The scheme simply asks local businesses to make seats, toilets and a drink of water available to people who may need them.

  • How it works

Participating businesses are invited to display the Age Friendly ‘flower’ logo on their window. If customers see the logo, they will know there is a chair available inside. There will also be a guide available on how to make
    premises more age-friendly.

  • Why take part

As a supporter of ‘Take a seat’, we want to help other businesses support the campaign and be age-friendly. It aims to increase footfall whilst providing support to those who need it to help make people more comfortable when in Stockport Town Centre.

We pledge to support the first 20 businesses that sign up to ‘Take a seat’.

Your business will receive a folding chair that can be used to offer support, supplied by Stockport Homes Group.

As part of the campaign, we will promote your involvement and your business through our social media channels and company websites.

If you already provide this level of support then you can still join the campaign by displaying the age-friendly sticker in your window. This will help to support those people who are in need and provide valuable support.
