As a landlord we have a legal duty and responsibility to ensure that any gas and solid fuel appliances we provide to our customers are maintained and safe for use.
To protect you, your family and your property we will ensure that an annual gas safety check is carried out. Checks are also carried out when a customer leaves a property and when a new customer moves in.
You will be notified by letter of the date of your annual check, it is vital that you provide access to your property. The check will take no longer than 30 to 40 minutes and we can offer flexible appointment times to suit you.
All safety checks are carried out by competent Gas Safe Registered Engineers and will carry with them identification. During the check we will also ensure that your smoke alarms are working. A copy of the gas safety certificate will be sent to you within 28 days of the check taking place.
Due to the potential consequences of unsafe gas appliances if we are repeatedly unable to gain access to your home to carry out the check we can obtain a warrant from the courts to gain access to your property, the costs associated with this may then be passed on to you.
