We have a duty and a legal responsibility as a landlord to ensure that gas heating systems and appliances are maintained so that they are safe and efficient.
Therefore, we carry out an annual gas safety check to make sure all gas and solid fuel appliances are properly maintained, working efficiently and safely.
To make sure your gas heating systems and appliances are safe and that you don’t put your family at risk, please make sure you provide us with access to your home to carry out an annual gas safety check.
If you do not provide us with access to your home, we have the authority from the Council to get a court warrant to access your property to carry out these safety checks under Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
We also make sure all gas regulations are met and that you receive a valid copy of the gas safety record within 28 days of the check taking place.
