GARDENING COMPETITION 2020 FB And TW Twitter

Annual garden competition 2020 now open

Posted 15 May 2020

Whether you have a glorious flower garden, rolling lawns, a tasteful vegetable patch, baskets or a pot full of pansies you could be in with a chance of winning some of our fantastic prices, with up to £400 in vouchers.

In these times of uncertainty and change, people are valuing their gardens and blooms more than ever before, if you are new to gardening or have a wealth of experience, please let us know by entering.

The competition is open to all tenants, leaseholders or household members of Stockport Homes. Even if you are not a keen gardener yourself, you could nominate someone else – we have prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in four categories this year.

You can enter yourself or nominate somebody else in the following categories:

  • Best individual garden
  • Best communal garden (Please remember to follow guidance and practice social distancing)
  • Best container or hanging basket
  • Best fruit / vegetable garden

The closing date for entries is Sunday 5 July 2020.

You can find the form to enter the competition yourself here or to nominate somebody else here.

Jenny Osbourne, Chair of Stockport Homes’ Board said,

"There has never been a more poignant moment for us to discover the benefits of surrounding ourselves with our favourite plants. We are calling all of our community to enter; whether you have an established lustrous flower garden, or you are a newbie to gardening, I look forward to seeing the entries this year – good luck to everyone!"

To enter the gardening competition or nominate someone else, please complete the online form or contact the Greenspace Team on 0780 0618 210.

The judging method will be based on advice from Public Health England.  We will confirm the process the week before Judging is due.
