The Warm Home Discount Scheme is a government initiative that gives some low-income households a £140 discount on their electricity bill.
It's a one-off discount administered by your energy supplier providing your energy supplier participates in the scheme. It is not a cash payment, but comes as a reduction in your bill or as a top up if you have a prepayment meter.
If you receive the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit or you / your partner are on a low income or get certain means-tested benefits you may be entitled to it.
The scheme opens once a year and is based on a first come first served basis. Electricity suppliers are starting to open their schemes now so check with your supplier to see if you’re eligible. If you require help with your application or have any questions about the Warm Home Discount: get in touch 0161 218 1838 or energy.advice@stockporthomes.org
*The scheme does not affect your entitlement to either the Winter Fuel Payment or the Cold Weather Payment
Please see list below of the suppliers that are taking part in the scheme. If you click on your supplier, you will be directed to their website for more information. Please note that if you pre-register with your supplier this does not mean you have completed the application, if you pre-register the supplier will contact you when their application process is open.
