The Prevention Alliance provides early help and preventative support for a wide range of vulnerable people and households in the Borough. It was commissioned by Stockport Council as part of its Preventative Strategy,
The service is delivered through an alliance of organisations working in partnership with Stockport Council. The organisations are:
The aim is to provide tailored advice and information and when it’s needed, short-term and focused support for people with multiple challenges which prevent them from living independently. This may be for any reason relating to health, wellbeing or situation, such as mental and/or physical illness, disability, older age or social circumstances including caring responsibilities. People who use the service may include:
- People with disabilities
- Adults with housing or lifestyle issues
- Adults with autism
- Older people
