Sheltered scheme social activities

We hold a range of activities at each of our sheltered housing schemes, open to anyone over the age of 50, regardless of whether you are a Stockport Homes tenant or not.

  • Annual Calendar of Events

We have created an annual calendar detailing various events and activities taking place at different sheltered housing schemes throughout the year.  These activities are open to anyone over the age of 50.  You do not need to be a Stockport Homes resident nor live within a sheltered scheme to join in.  Please feel free to print the calendar and share with friends and family.

  • Intergenerational activities

A number of the activities detailed have been marked as intergenerational. These activities add an injection of youth and excitement. We are currently liaising with NCS to arrange a number of exciting intergenerational activities.

The calendar details contact information of individuals (Independent Living Assistants) who are organising each individual activity. If you would like further information surrounding a particular activity or would like to put you name down to attend an activity, please feel free to give them a call.

  • Weekly re-occurring events

In additional to the calendar of events, we have a schedule detailing the weekly re-occurring events that take place in all the schemes on top of the activities advertised on the calendar.   Again, these activities are open to anyone over the age of 50, regardless of whether you are a Stockport Homes tenant or not.

We are always looking for people to help and support us with the running of the activities, whether you are a tenant or not, you can help!

  • OSCAR

Overall Scheme Committee (Activities) – Representative.  We are currently working towards establishing a committee over all 10 sheltered and extra care schemes.  This committee will be made up of volunteers from the schemes and they will be able to apply for funding from different funding streams.  This funding will then be used to reduce some of the costs surrounding activities.

  • Volunteers

Volunteers are very welcome, in fact we need you.  Can you spare some time each week to help support a particular activity? This could be in an area of your choice and an activity of your choice.  To find out more please call Lynn on 0161 474 3119.
