A swift response from our Control Room and Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has helped prevent the theft of a motor scooter and led to the detention of two suspects.

On Wednesday, 5th March, at 6:20 pm, our Control Room received reports of three individuals attempting to steal a scooter at Mottram Street Car Park. Operators quickly located the suspects at the rear of the car park and were able to alert GMP. Upon GMP’s arrival, the suspects fled towards the shops, but swift coordination between CCTV operators and officers led to the detention of two individuals. The stolen scooter, belonging to a resident of Ratcliffe Towers, was recovered undamaged, and its owner was promptly informed.

This incident highlights the importance of reporting suspicious activity. Thanks to the quick thinking of our team and our excellent partnership with GMP, we were able to prevent a crime and help keep our communities safe.
