Residents across Stockport are getting together to celebrate the Queens Jubilee, with events happening across all of Stockport Homes Sheltered Schemes and Community Groups.

Each of the schemes will be celebrating, with tea and cake, the events will bring communities together to celebrate.

Community Groups have also been able to bid through the Stockport Homes Community Fund, to help with the cost for the celebrations, including decorations, food, and promotion.

All the sheltered scheme events can be found on the Events Calendar. If you know anyone who would like to attend one of the events, call the Independent Living Team on 0161 474 3773.

Really excited and looking forward to all the events going on, we’re going to Woodley precinct and Woodley Methodist Church, we’ve been making jubilee bunting in our Woodley craft group, where we are going to have tea party on the 1st to celebrate so we’ve got paper plates bunting and crowns and we’re going to dress up for it – fingers crossed for nice weather now.

It’s fantastic to hear about so many celebrations happening across the Borough, this is a great way to bring communities together. If you know anyone who would like to attend one of the events, contact the team. I hope all the residents enjoy their celebrations.
