On Monday 30 September Stockport Homes held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and September Board meeting. The occasion was a chance to reflect on the achievements and challenges of the previous year (2023-24) and it was also important because it marked a significant change in leadership of the Board as well as the appointment of two new Board Members.

Steve Partridge

Steve Partridge

Steve Partridge has been elected as Chair of the Stockport Homes Board, following Jenny Osbourne’s retirement from the Board after nine years, five of which she served as Chair. Steve is a Director at Savills and is a national expert in housing finance with over 25 years’ experience in public and private sectors in business planning, investment appraisal, and the financing and development of new homes. He is an experienced Board Member having been Chair of SHG’s Audit and Risk Committee since September 2019. Following recruitment over the summer, we are very pleased to welcome two new Board Members, who were appointed to the Stockport Homes Board at the AGM. Both are experienced housing professionals, who have worked in the Greater Manchester housing sector for a number of years.

Karen Mitchell (1)

Karen Mitchell

Karen Mitchell has recently retired from Southway Housing Trust where she was the Chief Executive since its initial transfer from Manchester City Council. She has worked at Housing Associations, ALMOs and Local Authorities. Karen also has significant experience as a Board Member / Trustee outside the social housing sector at Borough Care group, a not-for-profit residential care provider in Stockport, and Crossroads Derbyshire. Karen will join the SHG Audit & Risk Committee, as Chair, and the Viaduct Board.

Alison Foster (8)

Alison Foster

Alison Foster is Assistant Director Finance at Bolton at Home. She is an experienced accountant within the social housing sector and has worked at Housing Associations, ALMOs and Local Authorities across the GM region. Alison also has significant experience as a Board Member, at Six Town Housing for five years, including being vice-chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. Alison will join the SHG Audit & Risk Committee and Three Sixty Board. Everyone at SHG would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the retiring Board Members, Jenny Osbourne MBE and Ken Lee for their dedication and support over the years. They have both contributed immensely to SHG’s achievements.
