York Street Residents Association have launched “Click in the Community" with funding from Big Lottery “Awards for All”.

Over 50 people including the Mayor, Mayoress and local politicians from the Edgeley area turned out to attend the launch of the newly funded computer training project. The centre was filled with people using the computer facilities to trace family history, design cupcakes, make quirky greetings cards, or just browse the internet.

Funded by the Big Lottery the project is delivered by a partnership of agencies that includes Stockport Homes, Stockport Mind, Startpoint, St Matthews Church and York Street Tenants and Residents Association.

Peter Egerton, Customer & Community Engagement Officer at Stockport Homes said,

The aim of the project is to encourage as many people as possible to learn how to use computers. The project caters for all abilities to allow everyone to join in. If you are one of those people who believes that the digital agenda has passed you by or you just want to come along and meet new people then call on 0161 474 2862 for more information or a chat about the project.
