Winter Welfare Visits

Posted 22 November 2018

We have recently started delivering our annual programme of Winter Welfare Visits with older and more vulnerable people living in our properties. These visits enable staff to provide advice and assistance on keeping warm, eating well and checking vaccinations are up to date. We are also able to make referrals for equipment and adaptations and to other agencies such as Age UK, the NHS and Greater Manchester Fire Service.

Everyone who we visit will receive a goody bag and some relevant information provided by local agencies working with elderly and vulnerable people across the borough. We complete a short survey and see if there is anything else we can help with whilst we are there.

The information gathered is useful as it helps provide support to older and more vulnerable people living in the community; it also means we are able to improve our services to residents and reduce social isolation too!

This year we would like to say a big thank you to our sponsors, who help to make this possible with their funding:

  • The Dodd Group
  • B4Box
  • Three Sixty
  • Stannah Stairlifts
  • Park Cakes Oldham
  • Morrisons (Reddish)
