Minute's silence to mark Manchester Arena attack anniversary

Stockport Homes will join the nationwide one minute’s silence on 22 May 2018 at 2.30pm in remembrance of those who lost their lives and all others who were affected by the attack

Traffic at A6 Wellington Road South (between John Street and Greek Street)* will be held on Tuesday 22 May 2018 at 2.30pm for residents, employees and councillors to stand safely outside the Town Hall to observe the one minute's silence.

The Town Hall flag will be lowered at 2.30pm for the rest of the day. The Mayor of Stockport, Cllr Walter Brett, will be attending.

There will be a number of commemorative events, both before 22 May, on the day itself, and in the days afterwards. View full list of events.

*Traffic will be held at the following areas:

  • A6 southbound at junction with John Street
  • A6 northbound southside of junction with Greek Street
  • Greek Street eastbound at junction with A6
  • Edward Street westbound at junction with A6
