Stockport Homes is running a Key Amnesty between 6th January 2020 and 14th February 2020.
Do you have a tenancy with SHG but live somewhere else?
Do you rent out your property to another person?
Yes? You are committing housing fraud.
Housing fraud is an offence for which you could face up to 2 years in prison and/or up to £50,000 in fines.
The Key Amnesty gives you an opportunity to terminate your tenancy and hand back your keys and face NO LEGAL ACTION for housing fraud.
Go to Cornerstone today to fill out a termination form and hand in your keys.
When you terminate your tenancy you will give 4 weeks notice. You must continue to pay your rent for this 4 week notice period. If Stockport Homes is able to re-let your property before the 4 weeks is up, then you may be able to pay less rent.
Do you suspect someone of committing housing fraud?
Any reports of housing fraud we receive in this time will be investigated as normal and appropriate action will be taken. To report fraud, contact the team on 0161 474 2680 / email@example.com. You can also report fraud anonymously on our website – here.
