Get Online Week, the UK’s largest digital inclusion campaign, makes its annual return as we celebrate thousands of events taking place in communities across the UK. From 18th – 24th October, a range of free events will be held across Stockport with the aim to support more people into the digital sphere, helping them become more comfortable using the internet and computers by offering free training.
Stockport Homes are proud partners of #DigiKnow, a movement that helps to remove the barriers people may face when they aren’t online. In Stockport, the #DigiKnow partners will be promoting ways for residents to improve their digital skills with events in the One Stockport Hub as well as libraries and other venues.
If you found and read this article with relative ease, using the internet may be second nature to you. For others, using the banks latest app or knowing what colour of bin to put out on what day may be inaccessible or too far out of their comfort zone. So, if you know someone that would benefit from #GetOnlineWeek, take a look and share the array of activities taking place in the Events Calendar, or become a Digital Champion and support family, friends or colleagues to learn new skills.
