Stockport Homes Group have been shortlisted in the 2019 Northern Housing Awards which celebrate and promote all the great things the Northern Powerhouse’s affordable housing providers and their supply chain partners are doing.
As a finalist in ‘Landlord of the Year’ Stockport Homes are showcasing their entrepreneurial approach and keen commercial focus that are key to tackling the economic challenges the sector faces.
The other two categories celebrate the achievements made in boosting employment with partner ‘B4Box’. The partnership prioritises working with unemployed people in the toughest of circumstances, often with multiple barriers to employment, including the long-term unemployed, people with few or no qualifications, care leavers, ex-offenders, and local residents with physical and mental health issues. This innovative collaboration offers genuine opportunities for employment – with over 150 people now in employment following training and qualifying with B4Box.
