Stockport Homes has raised nearly £4,000 to defend the crown of Top Accumulator for local charity, St. Ann’s Hospice.
The charity run their ‘Accumulator Challenge’ every October for companies and groups across Greater Manchester. Every entrant is given an initial £100 with the challenge to turn it into as much money as possible. All money raised helps support the charity and their incredible work.
A range of events were held to support the fundraising including a charity trek up Mount Snowdon, held a raffle for staff and sold doughnuts to help reach the final figure. The company also sold old furniture from the previous office ahead of the move to Cornerstone.
Tracy Sweeting, Stockport Homes’ People and Organisational Development Co-ordinator said:
We are thrilled to have reclaimed our crown as Top Accumulator. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of our staff and to raise £3,917 in just one month is an incredible achievement. It will help make such a difference to an amazing charity.
Clare Henderson from St. Ann’s Hospice said:
We are so grateful for the ongoing and tireless way that Stockport Homes have fundraised for St Ann’s Hospice over the last 2 years. The team has been enthusiastic, persistent and really creative with their ideas, which has seen them engage so well with the larger Stockport Homes Team and enabled them to raise in excess of £30,000 which is incredible! They have climbed mountains, baked, raffled and even sold off old office furniture. This will make a massive difference to St Ann’s and enable us to continue supporting our patients and their families when they really need to reach out.
St. Ann’s Hospice is Stockport Homes' Charity of the Year 2017 and is a Stockport-based charity offering invaluable support to cancer patients with a terminal diagnosis as well as support to their family and friends. Stockport Homes have supported the charity since 2016, raising over £30,000.
