Stockport Homes has won a local charity’s challenge to raise as much money as possible throughout October – raising a fantastic £3,038 in just a month!
St. Ann’s Hospice set the ‘Accumulator Challenge’ to companies and groups across Greater Manchester. Every organisation was given an initial £100 with the challenge to turn it into as much profit as possible with all donations supporting the charity and their incredible work.
A range of events were held to support the fundraising including a raffle, a roller skating family fun day as well as a 40 mile cycle event from Lytham St. Anne’s to St. Ann’s Hospice in Little Hulton. They also bought doughnuts and worked with local groups to add to the fundraising total.
The charity held the award ceremony on Tuesday night to unveil the ‘Ultimate Accumulator 2016.’
Tracy Sweeting, Stockport Homes’ People and Organisational Development Co-ordinator said, “Throughout October, we’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of our staff. To raise over £3,000 in just four weeks is an incredible achievement and will help make such a difference to an amazing charity.”
Jo Burton, Corporate Fundraiser for St. Ann’s Hospice said: “We were delighted to have Stockport Homes taking part in The Accumulator Challenge and we’ve been blown away by the effort they put into it raising a phenomenal £3038.31 and winning the prize of ‘The Ultimate Accumulator’.
