Service charges

We provide a number of additional services, which you will pay a charge for in addition to your rent. Services include (but are not limited to):

  • Grounds maintenance

    The service charge payable varies across tenancies, dependent upon the service delivered in the locality of your home. Services typically include:

    • grass cutting
    • shrub and hedge maintenance
    • weed control

    If you have any queries about grounds maintenance charges please contact your Area Housing Officer.

  • Caretaking service

    The Caretaking Service charge covers the services provided by caretakers across the Borough. They look after the communal parts of buildings, working to ensure areas are clean, safe and monitored.

  • Building and window cleaning

    This charge covers the communal cleaning and window cleaning at all sheltered schemes and at 50 other developments throughout the Borough. 

    If you have any queries about building and window cleaning, please contact your Area Housing Officer.

  • Sheltered Scheme Support

    This allows you to live independently within your own home by offering you support 24 hours a day through a designated Scheme Manager. Back up is also provided by the Carecall Service.

    As part of the service you will have an individual support plan, and someone to turn to if you need a helping hand.

  • Carecall service

    This charge covers a monitoring and mobile warden response service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Before introducing any new service charges, we will consult you and will give a minimum of four weeks notice before the charges start.
