With the help of £1.17m investment from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), Stockport Homes is building 18 new homes at the sites of two former sheltered housing schemes. This follows the success of the new build project at Lantern Close (formerly known as Dorset Avenue) in Brinnington where 17 new properties were built and completed earlier this year.
Stockport Homes is celebrating after being named the runner up of two national awards by the National Federation of ALMOs (NFA), whose 69 member organisations oversee more than one million council owned properties across England. The winners and runners up of the 2010 NFA Awards were announced at a ceremony at the Midland Hotel, Manchester which was hosted by Janet Street-Porter.
Members of the Carecall Team were out in force to help raise money for local charities at this year's Stockport Carnival.
