Magazine rates Stockport Homes CEO amongst the 50 most influential people in housing

Posted 05 April 2016   |   By Nicola Poulter

Helen McHale, Chief Executive of Stockport Homes has been ranked as the 17th most influential person in UK housing by 24Housing magazine in its annual ‘Power Players’ list – moving up an amazing 19 places from last year.

Among housing organisation Chief Executives, Helen was ranked 9th. As a leader of an organisation in only one Borough this is a significant achievement.

The Chief Executive was praised by the magazine for valuing meaningful tenant engagement and for leading the organisation into new commercial activity.

The pleasing issue for Stockport Homes is that it is the high regard that Stockport Homes is held in within the sector that brings Helen acclaim, as she is credited with the leadership that brought it about.

Stockport Homes Board member, Jenny Osbourne has also entered this year’s Top 50, as a new entry at number 31. Jenny is Chief Executive at TPAS (Tenant Participation Advisory Service) and ensures that tenants have a strong voice within housing.

David Wright, Chair of Stockport Homes Board said,

This achievement for our Chief Executive to be within the ‘Top 50’ power players is testament to the hard work, dedication and passion she shows for our customers and community. Helen contributes tirelessly to the housing movement to promote housing and address the issues faced locally and nationally. This achievement coupled with being named as a ‘Times top 100 company’ for the 7th consecutive year recognises that Helen makes Stockport Homes a great place to work. Many congratulations also to my fellow Board member, Jenny for being recognised for her dedication and commitment in being an advocate for tenants.
